Xiaomi, the popular Chinese brand that is making news lately has come up with another excellent smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 4i. Xiaomi has already given a tough competition to other smartphone sellers in India. Currently, it is ranked 5th highest smartphone seller in India and this is quite evident from the fact that Xiaomi biggest overseas market lies in India.
The partial reason for its success is the right price and today we will do a Xiaomi Mi 4i Review. The smartphone is priced at 12,999 INR, which can give Moto G(2nd Generation), a run for its price.
The i version stands directly against to the YU from Micromax.
Xiaomi Mi 4i Review
The first impression of the device is great; it is sleek, light-weight and comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest Android OS. The MIUI is packed on top of the stock Android and its one of the best customized Android OS out there.
Without wasting much time, let’s dive deep into different aspects of the Xiaomi Mi 4i Review.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes with a powerhouse under the hood. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, clocked at 1.7Ghz(4-cores for performance) and 1.1 GHz(4 cores for power saving). The processor is octa-core in nature and will run any Android app without any lag. The processor is bundled with 2 GB RAM, which eliminates any bottleneck that can happen due to lack of RAM.
For gaming purposes, the smartphone comes with Adreno 405 GPU.
The device runs MIUI on top of stock Android 5.0. The default OS sucks in a huge amount of RAM, but the apps have enough RAM to run successfully.
Other than the internal specs, the smartphone boasts 16 GB internal storage. On the downside, there is no option to add external microSD card, which can hamper many users to expand the mobile’s internal storage.
The battery of the smartphone is on the bright side as it hosts a battery of 3120 mAh. Battery life has been an issue on most of the smartphones, but with some extra numbers on the back, Xiaomi Mi 4i will last much longer.
Display and Design
The display of the smartphone rocks at 5-inch display screen. The screen is protected by custom gorilla glass. The display comes with Sunlight display, which enhances the screen display according to the sunlight intensity. You can check the demo here.
The display supports a resolution of 1080 x 1920.
On the design side, the smartphone resembles the iPhone5c but comes with the matte finish. The smartphone offers standard buttons. The power button on the right-hand side. The volume rocker key is placed at the top of the power button.
The back is non-removable and that can stumble users for changing to custom back-panels. Other than that, the design is good and feels impressive.
The smartphone offers two cameras. One at the rear side, which rocks at 13 MP and the other is a front camera with 8 MP. The rear camera comes with the flash. The camera quality is decent and doesn’t live to the expectation.
Xiaomi is here to stay. With excellent specs and decent pricing, the Mi 4i stands just between the Mi3 and Mi4. Those who were not impressed by the pricing of Mi4 can now easily get their hands dirty with the Xiaomi Mi 4i.
